Took name of Eklof when he came to America because of the constant mix-up of mail. He got the name Eklof in the service. The name was assigned to him because of so many Pearsons. IMMIGRATION: 1877 - By train from New York to Michigan, where they stayed about three years and then they went to Wisconsin. In Wisconsin, they took a homestead and stayed there the rest of their lives. RESEARCH: NOT FOUND: in W. Sweden, WI - 1880 Census, Michigan 1880 U.S. Census (for either Eklof or Pearson), or W. Sweden - 1885 WI Census. |
