Our Great-Great-Great Uncle Joseph Chapman was a Private in War of 1812. This is documented in the book "Vermont Pensioners of 1812 (Clark) at the Carlsbad, CA Genealogy Library section. Page 113 lists "Payroll of a Company of Infantry commanded by Captain John McNeil, Jr., of the Eleventh (Vermont) Regiment of the United States, for the months of January and February, 1813, and lists Joseph Chapman as a Private.
